Volvo-940 - won't restart after shutdown i have to wait 10 minutes,

after i run my 940 for 15 to 20 minutes them shut it down to run in and get to get a six pack it will not restart.but if i wait 10 minutes it starts fine.i just bought this car and love it.i have done a lot of work on it allready.just need a little advice.
