I too am looking for this elusive wiring diagram or explanation of pinouts for the CR-712. I am looking for the 1986 GL wagon info. These connectors seem to predate the, at least, 1990 models of which I have seen pictures that show a black 12-pin molex connector. I have a white 9pin (8 used) square connector as well as the 6 pin din. Despite claims that the 6pin din is used for speaker outputs I have found that 4 pins on the white square connector connect to the front r/l speakers. And have not been able to measure a 4 ohm load on any of the din connector pins, nor find continuity between these pins while the rear speaker leads are shorted.

Obviously a schematic diagram is what is needed before any further monkeying around is performed. A trip to the library and visit to the scanner may be in order....

My 1989 Volvo 240 wagon has the original CR-712 AM/FM radio with a tape player. The tape player works (most of the time); however, the radio no longer works at all. On the back of the radio there are 2 fuses (3 amp, 2-prong, plug-in type) mounted one on top of the other. Does anyone know if one fuse works the tape player and the other the radio?

Also, the speaker in the driver's-side door only works once in a while while the one in the passenger door works all the time; any suggestions on how to fix the driver's-side speaker?

good condition.

Just purchased a new stereo for my 1988 240GL Volvo and cant figure out the wiring. Has anyone got information in regards to colour coding these wires.

Can anyone give me advise on 1990 volvo fuel system... car just quit.... no electrical power to fuel pump. Changed relay, fuel pump. Checked fuse... still no power? Any suggestions?

I have a 1986 240dl wagon, I'm trying to put in a new cd player.

The car already had a after market tape deck, so finding out the speaker wires was easy. I have the ignition wire(red), battery wire(yellow) and the ground hooked up, I can not find the power control wire(blue/white)anywhere in the dash, How can I hook this up? I can't get the keenwood to power up!Please help me out with this.

Here, I hope this helps. It's a page from my Haynes 240 manual, which is an amazing investment. It's the only page on which I can find a radio schematic. It says "typical 80 through 83, " but I have an 85 240 DL and the radio wiring seems to be exactly the same. I believe I have an extra wire, a black/yellow I believe, but this should point you in the right direction. It's better than nothing.
