Rear Park Assist button location

Just wondering if anyone has had rear park assist installed in their van. They put 4 buttons on our van and the 2 outside buttons are on the curve of the bumper and it picks up things beside us and not behind us. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi There,

I am with a supplier of Parking Assist Systems, Steelmate USA.

There is a simple fix to your problem. The outer sensors should

be angled using angle rings to point more directly to the rear,

instead of facing off to the sides. In addition, most systems have the outer sensors set at a shorter range to eliminate some

of the "false" reads that you are experiencing. Typically the center two sensors have a 5FT Range and the outer two sensors should be set to 2.5 - 3FT Range. Your dealer or the Expeditor that they use to do the installation, should be able to help with both of these issues.

By the way, please can you do me a huge favor and FAX me a copy of the page from your Owners Manual, that refers to the Intuitive Parking Assist System. FAX No. 1-800-421-3538.
