Toyota-Highlander - Toyota Highlander - Aftermarket GPS Problems

I recently leased a 2009 Highlander Limited. I have a Garmin GPS and am having problems linking to satelites. I have heard that there may be some chemical in the UV protection in the glass that is interfering with the signal. Another possibility is that their is a conflict with the radio signal from the electronic ignition system. Are other people having trouble with their aftermarket GPS systems in Toyota Highlanders? Are there any solutions? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 2009 Highlander Sport, and have yet to find a solution. I actually bought another Garmin thinking that the other one had just quit on me, and neither of them works in the SUV. I'm thinking that I may just have to get the factory one installed...I need a GPS. Check out the link I pasted, and you'll see we're not alone. I'm actually thinking about taking the advice of one of the other posters and buying the Garmin GA 27C external antenna- worked for one of the posters on the site.
