I have an 86 cressida, the problem is when i come to a complete stop after a second it feels like the trans wants to shift into second and the engine almost stalls. this happens every time i come to a stop it has only completely stalled a few times.

got my car hard to start often due to an automatic choke that is sticking. cleaning the choke with a cleaner free it up. i was thinking it might be the idle speed adjustment screw set too low that cause it. try to call a mechanic
