06 Corolla check engine code

I have a 06 Carola I started it one morning and it only idled and the accelerator pedal did nothing when pressed, the car just went along at 5MPH until I pulled off the road and the CK engine light came on.

How do I get the code from the system and the look up table. Haynes & Chiltens books are not available yet.

I got a Secret Decoder Device and found that I have a error code in regards to the Control Module Performance.

Can any one tell me what this means? The outward problem of the car not running well comes and goes, some times it starts OK, other times it's problematic and will not come out of an idle.

Just bought a used 2003 Toyota Carolla with 78, 000km on it. Do very little driving. Check engine light came on. Can't be the gas tank as check engine light came on about a week or so after gas was put in. Checked coolant and put more coolant in. Don't know what else it could be. Any ideas?
