I have a 1984 toyota celica gt and the charging system Isn't working properly. I have replaced the alternator, there's no external voltage regulator. I've triple checked all fuses and connections and I still can't find the problem. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything like this being a common problem with these particular celicas, please email me if you might know what the problem could be.

In my case I have problem with the indicator or gas and temperature, both as soon as you turn on the engine they go all the way up to the top even more, but the temperature is ok and i could hear the fan when it turn on and the coolant flow throw the radiator.Sincerely, ARIEL

I have a 1992 Celica, engine light image warning light comes on after 15 minutes of driving - rest the car the light goes off. It appears the oil and coolant is ok with engine running fine and not over heating. One characteristic is when going down hill for a long time temp gauge drops to C and starts to move to central gauge position when on the flat. The manual says it is an internal electrical problem and see a Toyota rep. Will do so but what would the problem be

why wrong with my 95 Celica when the only way it will start is by running a jumper wire from positive battery post to big wire connection on starter, then it start via turning key?

i have a 2003 toyota celica, the check engine light comes on and off, i took it to the mechanic and apparently he says it probably when someone put gas in the car while running(impossible never did this) anyway he reset it and it stayed off for a while.everything was fine for quite some time then it came on, and after driving a few days b4 i had chance to take it my mechanic it went off.Recently i made a 11hr trip and 6hrs into driving i refill my tank(car turn off) after driving about an hour the check engine came on. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THERE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THIS AS WELL!

i have toyota celica 1989 i add autostart (remote start) i made it by my self by using only a toy remote. and it work fine the thing is the indicator of engine battery and lights are on but not realy bright. is this indicator has a big relation to the wiring that i made from alternator going to my design ckt.? i uses relays only on my design. the voltage out of the alternator i top one wire there to supply one relay and one light, is this also the reason?anyone knows can you email me. jaime@reklai.com

Hello. I have a 89 celica gt convertible that had a charging problem. I rebuilt the alt but like an idiot didnt disconnect the battery. one of the alt wires sparked on the exhaust and now nothing works except the headlights, dome and door lights and the horn. I found no blown fuses or burnt wires. I dont know what to do. Are there fusable links and what do I have to do to find them or are there any? any Ideas would help. thank you for your time.wjaur@yahoo.com 760-805-1303

I have a 94 Celica GT Manual Transmission, and this morning I replaced the aternator on it. All appeared to be running fine even on short trip to the grocery store and back. However on my second trip out to the store while driving about 50 mph, the Check Engine light came on...and now stays on. Any suggestions on what might have happened? Belt tension maybe?
