Toyota-Camry - 84 Camry reset light bulb warning light / auto off headlight

My 1984 Camry has same problem as mentioned elsewhere on forum - no burned out bulbs, but warning light still on. Tried disconnecting battery also, did not work.Any other suggestions? I can live with it rather than pay someone to reset, but would be nice to have it off. Sometimes my headlights auto turn off and sometimes they don't. Anyone know what I'm doing when they don't turn off automatically? I always turn them off now to avoid dead battery.

I came here trying to find out what the light under my check engine light meant, and I think I have an answer to your question about automatic ligts. I find that if my driver's side door is not opened and shut after the car has turned on, the lights will not automatically turn off. So, if you get in the car for a second and leave the door open, turn it on, then turn it back off, the lights will stay on because you never opened your door.
