Saturn-SL2 - Saturn SL2 windows

Can anyone help? I have a 96 SL2 (4 dr.) and my back door windows have some how slipped off the track. They are power windows but when I pull the button on the console, nothing happens. Also, they slowly slide down and I have to manually pull them back up. I'm not sure how to get into the door (looks complicated) to fix them. Any suggestions? Thanks

I had the same problem a few years ago on my '97 Saturn. Your regulator has failed (a piece of plastic has broken keeping the window from rising). Unfortunately, you have to buy a new regulator, with a new motor attached (they're not individual pieces). A few years ago, I paid $110 for the part at Saturn. Replacing it wasn't hard, as the inside panel AND the outside panel are removeable. Lots of plastic fasteners. Once you figure it out, it seems simple. I wrote Saturn and complained that the ten cent part failed and should be a replaceable piece instead of having to buy the whole assembly, but, they only responded that they were sorry I had the trouble. Go figure.

I had to get new regulators for my driver side rear window then a few months later the front window. You will save $$ by looking on ebay. I luckily had a friend that used to install car stereos and she nailed it in an hour. I was willing to try but have never worked on an electric window. Good luck, hope your woes are gone quickly.
