Car will not start.... at all.

I have a 1993 Saturn SL2 which will not start. I mean it will not even turn over. A couple of nights ago, it was really really cold. I thought that since there was not much gas in the car that the fuel lines had frozen - but the car was still trying to turn over. I added about 3 gallons of gas and replaced the battery (because it was starting to die down and while starting it was clicking..). I put in the battery and it initially started to want to turn over then - nothing... All the electrical in the car works, it just won't turn over at all. What could be the problem?

did your floor mat slide under the pedals?

if so, the car won't start

found out about this safety measure after having my car towed to the garage :)
