A few months ago my 2001 Saturn L200 began to make an occasional noise as if a stick was caught underneath and was grinding against the wheel. It would happen and then when the car was warmer, it seemed to stop. We had it looked at by Saturn and they said something was there which was removed. The noise continued, however, even afterward.

It stopped for a long time but resumed tonight. Anyone have similar experiences? better yet, anyone have the answer? Could it somehow be the gears on occasion not shifting properly and creating a grinding noise?

Seems like a problem with either your steering gear or the CV joints.

i am a proud owner of a 2003 L-200 but it has the same issue but mine never stops. Wtf i am very careful with my car what is it and how do i fix it

i had a similar thing pop on my 2001 SC1. turned out to be the bearings.

bad wheel bearings usually cause a grinding noise. I suggest new wheel bearings from the below link

I had that happen, it went on for 4 months and I had no idea what it was. Turned out my back breaks were wayyyy screwed up and had to be replaced completely!

I had this same noise issue for a number of years and the mechanic could not find a source nor anything wrong with the car. Until. . . this past April my mechanic found a Saturn issue dealing with this exact problem. It seems there is a problem with the power steering hose that is aural but not mechanical. They replaced the hose with a specialy "tuned" hose that is a good deal longer and thinner than the original. Problem solved.

Hi my car sounds like there is grinding/are the sound of a big truck. when it is in park it stop.
