If you are thinking to purchase a 928, Don't, I'm trying to save you your money, Time and hassle, This cars are piece of junk, they may look good but you will not have a day without trouble, I don't care what the owners say, If they tell you other wise they are lying, I will soon open a discussion form and worn everyone, if you pay 5K to for a 928 you have to spend another 5K or more for repair, and then you will not get what you paid for the car, Just check on ebay, this is the cheapest Sport car that you can buy, ever wonder why they don't have a good retail Value? Simple, It's a JUNK.........

It all depends on where you bought it, perhaps it is a fake. Plus you have not told us the reason why you deem it fake. I do not believe neither am I convinced

Since Harleyman gives no reasons for his anti-928 rant, let me says this: I have owned a 1986 928S (second owner) for the last 13 years, and driven it for 85, 600 miles with absolutely NOTHING going wrong. I mean Nothing. Just replace the timing chain every three years. The car is a fantastic GT vehicle, solid as Fort Knox but way more mobile, built to last till (and through) Armageddon, in short a superb highway tourer -- and no slouch off the mark either. Factory specs say 0-60 in 6.1 seconds (how's that for 1986?), and many owners report figures in the 5's. All this, and highway fuel economy from 21 to 26 mpUSg observed -- very carefully -- by me. This same model, untweaked in anyway except for unplugging the limiter, made 171 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats, the fastest production car in the world at that time. To call it junk is not only an insult to the marque but just plain stupid. Stick with Harleys, Harleyman: I've owned two, and God knows why I bought the second. And you talk about Trouble -!One thing is true: For their quality, the 928s are absurdly underpriced. No 928 owner can fully understand why. Perhaps it is because the Porsche "faithful" (current and would-be) want only endlessly updated iterations of the 911. They don't know what they missed, or (2nd hand) what they're missing. Give me front-engine, air-cooled, rear-drive (all with Porche workmanship of course) any day.
