Hi Steve, A friend of mine died and the family is trying to sell a 1982 Dodge Challenger with 100M miles on it. The body and insides are all orig and have the usual outside fading and wear but no dents or tears, etc. QUESTION: Do you have any idea what price this car is worth? The widow and handicapped son are the only family remaining and I'm just trying to help...thanks for any ideas (this is in Sac, CA)...bob

I have 3 clutch/brake pedal pads and 2 gas pedal pads, a bolt and a washer for the oil pan drain, and three knobs-- black with an orange line...all are original equipment for a 81 Dodge Challenger. The pads are unused, except for one for the gas pedal, but all are in good condition save for aging in storage. In memory of my faithful car who served me well for 25+ years, I'm willing to send these parts to anyone who can use them. I'm in the USA.

I used to own a 1982 Dodge Challenger. It was Red with Black trim, and had a 2.6 ltr. inline 4 cylinder engine with Silent shaft, and a 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive. It even had cruise control. No AC though. I bought it used from a Dodge dealer in Norfolk Virginia back in 1984, it only had about 19, 000 miles on it. It was my first car and I got it while I was on active duty in the Navy. I kept that car for 9 years, then gave it to my brother. He kept it for about 3 years then traded it in on a new Ford Escort. I think it had over 190k miles on it when he traded it in. It was a very good car, always ran great, and was easy to work on. I miss that car, I wish I still had it today.

Hi I have an 81 plymouth Sapporo. 2.6 l (engine 4G54) Still drive it every day, in the summer only. Put it away for the winter. Thinking about selling it. I have had it for over 18 years. Has not ever seen winter in any of the years I have had it. Looks great, runs very well.

I have an 1978 Plymouth Sapporo. The 2.6 litre 4 cylinder engine is out and needs to be rebuilt.Anyone know what alternative engine would fit in this car nice and easy?It is not a stick shift. The body is good and also the interior.Should I replace or rebuild ? Any comments are welcome. Thanks

Richie and Don You have one of the first and toughest hybrid cars ever built by Plymouth/Dodge.1979 Plymouth Sapporo was my second car I ever owned back when I was 19 and now I am in my 30s. I raced a V-8 and gave them a good run at 126 mph the pedal still wasn't to the floor. You can get parts for this www.car-part.com it is the largest website for all salvage yards. 1978-1983 Dodge Challengers and Plymouth Sapporos had a 4 cyl 2.6 ltr engine. Fast and tough. I ceased my engine twice.Once by the (timing chain) broke..yes it is a chain not a rubber belt and it broke because there was a bracket that broke off and snapped it.The second time was when the water pumped gasket failed and I ceased the engine by heat. Both times I used a bottle of mystery oil and turned the crank over by hand using a breaker bar.The 3rd engine cease finally damaged the piston walls because the bearings were fried..idiot working on it forgot to change the gasket and all the oil leaked out during test drive and killed it. At the time I didn't have the money to replace the engine and sold it for parts.I bought another one a year later :) That one I couldn't kill and it was 1981 Dodge Challenger which I put almost 323, 000 miles on it from 176, 000 when I bought it for 500.00 dollars. This car was even faster because I got this one up to 133 mph racing an old police Interceptor car my friend got at an auction. He beat me in the end around 144 mph but I was killing him for the first 1/2 mile on take off.I had to sell it when I moved. What a great car. That engine was very fast and tough the body was rusting very fast.New England winters are brutal on cars.
