| Weard Head LightsOn my 1993 Nissan truck you flip to bright and get the left bright light. Flip to low and get the low beam on the right. changed bulbs with no effect. Is the problem the bright dim switch or a relay or what? |
| I have a 1996 Nissan pickup. Both low beams work. When I switch to high beam, only the right one is working. I checked the headlight with an ohmmeter, read good. Attached new headlight... same thing. I have read reports of problems in the turn signal/headlight switch on the column. I don't relish the thought of how much this is going to cost. I would say that a new assembly would be far better than trying a used one. I have seen new aftermarket switches on ebay and they ain't cheap. Probably cheaper than a dealer though. Wish us luck! |
| I have the same problem with my 1995 Nissan Pickup - low beams work, though sometimes weak; left high beam doesn't work. I replaced both headlights and left high beam still doesn't work. I understand that there is no headlight relay in the 1995 so is the only solution to replace the headlight/turn signal switch or what? |
#309/07/09 22:54David Farris | 1993 Nissan Pathfinder - Driver's Headlight works on Low Beam, but neither side works on high beam. I checked both bulbs and they are good. Any ideas on what's wrong? |
| I have a 1992 pathfinder, the high beam works fine, but the low only the right one works, I checked fuses and bulbs and they are fine, I do not know what else to do, please advice |
#508/21/10 13:36Gordon Arnold | I have an 89 M Nissan SE V6 pickup all my lights worked fine a couple of weeks ago but I put in two new matching bulbs GE and they are correct type of bulb and now only the dim lights work. when I switch to brights the lights go off, I took the column switch out and it appears to be OK. Although my cruise control doesn't work either and it's on the same switch? |
| Good blog to solve Nissan headlight problem and getting solutions. No need to search elsewhere. |
| If you have any problem related with the Nissan Pickup headlight , you must get in touch with this blog. Definitely you will get a solution. |
| My 1995 Pathfinder has this same problem of no high beam on one side. I'm fairly sure that it is one of the switch contacts in the high-low beam unit on the column. It's easy to remove, you will need a puller to get the steering wheel off though. Remove the signal/dimmer switch. Carefully pry the plastic cover off the switch and notice that when engaging high/low which set of contacts moves. You will need to gently bend the springs downward so as to contact more firmly. The above method fixed my dash lights which are switched by contacts in this unit. |
#901/29/11 19:321lo72chevy | It is a easy fix replace the switch on the column 60.00 to 70.00 at most auto parts stores only tools needed a Phillips screw driver. These switches have 5 contacts, one for the tail/running lights, one for the driver lo beam one for the driver hi beam and the same for pass side. So when a contact goes bad just one light is out. I have had 3 of these trucks it is a very common problem. |
| I have a 93 Nisan PU - when I turn on the headlights the DS light Doesn't always come on till 5 or 10 min. later. Flip on the high beams and the DS light goes out completely? New headlight does the same. Any one know what I can check to correct problem. I need to register it soon and this must be corrected. |
