I am looking to swap a engine out of a 89 pathfinder ( V6 ) to a 89 pickup ( 4 cylinder ). Has anyone done this and was there any problems that arose while swapping. I was told that the engine would mount up, but I would have to take the wiring harness and computer components out of the pathfinder and put in pickup, so that they matched the engine because the pickup has a different wiring harness and computer in it.

I am trying to help my teenage daughter out by doing this because she has little funds to buy a used car and we have a wrecked 89 nissan pathfinder at our disposal, that has a rebuilt engine in it ( only 32 K on rebuild ). We can take everything we need off of the pathfinder to fix the pickup ( that has no engine at all in it ) just would like to know if there has been any problems with the outcome of swapping the engines. Also would like to know if this is a feasable way of doing this, since I would have to do all the work my self. If anyone knows of anything else that I may need to know about swapping the engine out or any advise you could give me, it would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you for your time.
