| "Service engine soon" light is on: 2004 Pathfinder-- The car starts fine, I pull onto the road and after traveling about 2 or 3 miles the engine looses power and experience lose of response from the accellerator; i push the acc. peddle farther down and the engine/trans. starts cycling the passing gear/ slips into a lower gear until accelleration occurs; the SES light remains on steady;as it accel. it goes in and out of what I call passing gear. I really don't want to take it to the dealer because you just can't trust them, and I would really like not to get " screwed today. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY? |

1312/17/09 12:09pete emery | The sevice engine soon light is a problem that Nissan are aware of it requires a modification to the breather at the gas tank this gets cloged with mud my dealer ran a tube from the filler neck to the engine compartment no more problems thanks to nissan temecula ca. |

| Hi I have a 2001 NIssan Pathfinder and just the other day the service engine light went on and started flashing. It normally runs fine, but when this happened it started shaking when idol. Now it is shaking when I am driving and when I accelorate it doesn't seem to want to go...almost like loosing its "umph" Hopefully, someone can help me figure out what the heck is wrong. I don't have a ton of $ so i hope this doesn't cost a fortune... thanks a lot Sarah |

| I have a 94 nissan pathfinder xe V6 manuel, check engin light came on.the rpms stay where they are supposed to , but it runs rough and sputters. It does have an exauhst leak so it sputters really bad and loses hp when driving. at first it would come on and off when it was cold and when it was off it wouldnt run rough or sputter, but when its on it runs rough and sputters. now it is on all the time and runs like crap. dont have alot of money so if anyone can find a quick inexpensieve way to fix it i would appreciate it. |

Is this something Nissan is responsible for. I have an inspector comming to inspect my vehicle in 2 days, and need an answer asap Please! | I have a '01 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5 LE. Service engin soo light went on and i drove it for a while with the light on. Supposedly, two of the four O2 sensors were bad, both were downstream so one from each bay. I finally took it in because it was running rough. I got diagnostic performed and it was the coil pack for cylinder one that was triggering a cylinder misfire code. Got the 1st cylinder coil pack installed, replaced old spark plugs with new "correct" plugs(spendy), and the light went off adn is runs like new. Two days later I'm hammering on the gas and the SE light turns on again. This time the diagnostic shows the O2 sensors. The light is now off and it drives like a champ. Do I get the O2 sensors replaced or wait? What damage will result from driving with the sensors F-ed up? Let me know what you think. Phil. |
