Rear door handle

Folks,

Just looking for a little help. Rear door handle on 2000 Pathfinder has become un attached, and inside handle will not open the door. Tried removing door at hinges, no luck. Tried removing inside panel, and did not know exactly how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same problem with the driver side rear door.

All the attachments to undo the inside upholstery panel are unaccessible when the door is closed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have same problem, i have a 2005 and managed to get panel of by taking out ashtray and undoing screw and removing, then prise the cover on door opener inside and undo screw, then lift the elbow rest upwards and when removed undo three screws, this allows access to the lock but unable to undo it, will have totake into garage and pay their over the top prices.
