What did you do to fix this? My ABS light is on then the 4WD light comes on. I don't know what is causing this...Any help would be appreciated.
My vehicle stops without any cause daily when I starts the vehicle and moving. After a short distance of between 500 to 1000 meters the vehicle stops on its own and one has to wait for about a some seconds before the vehicle can be restarted.
My 2001 pathfinder ABS and 4WD light is on. I think bad sensor, but how do you find it?
Saw your posting about Nissan cutting off. I have a 97 Pathfinder…had the same problem on a trip I took up to VT. The problem started slowly and progressively got worse until the truck no longer cranked. In my case, the distributor had become loose from the mounting. This small issue allowed the distributor to shake ever slightly at a rapid pace causing damage to the distributor unit itself. I had to replace the distributor and have them remount/ bolt it down securely to the engine block.
My 4WD and ABS lights are on too. I went to the Nissan dealer and they had to run a computer test to figure out the cause. It turned out that the front left ABS sensor was bad. They estimated $330 to replace the sensor. I called PepBoys and they can sell the same sensor for $130. Installation looks very easy, even for a non-mechanic. I think im going that route.
