1987 Nissan Pathfinder won't start, no lights or horn

We are trying to help a poor single mom with her 1987 pathfinder, V-6, AT. It won't start and the lights won't turn on and no horn, but the WS wipers work. It looks like the PTC relay has gotten hot. We replaced the fusible link loop on the relay and it starts, but after several seconds of running, the wire burns again. Then, no start and no lights. We got a new set of relays at the junk yard, no help. Can anyone help us help this poor lady. Thank you.

hello, i let my brother in law borrow my 87 pathfinder and the next day i was taking my son to school to find out that my truck would not start. battery is good lights come on when i turned the key to on, it does not make any funny noises or nothing friends tell me is a relay and others would tell me is the inhibitor switch. i really don't know can you please help thank you for your time.
