Need Some Help

I have recently perchused a 1997 Eclipse 5 speed. It has a bad knock in it, we thought it was a loose valve but also think it's a rod. We are going to rebuild the engine, but i found a good deal on a used engine, does anyone know if a 1995 eclipse engine would fit in a 1997???
