Mercury-Capri - fuel pump relay

I am having trouble locating exactly where the fuel pump relay is on a 91 XR2. I have removed the fuel pump and connected it directly to the battery and it works. I want to test the relay coil, but I do not know which relay is for the fuel pump.

hi larry. i don't know where the relay is but i have two xr2 s and i have a problem. when i go on the freeway and step on the gas my car seems to stop pumping gas. any thoughts on what it might be. it almost feels like there's water in the gas tank but i know that's not it. i can get you a relay if you find out what and where it's located on the car thanks. joe

hey guys I need to know where that relay for the capri is as well, I called the ford/mercury dealership adn they said that their records indicate it is under/behind the dash directly under the heat/air vents. still could find it with what autozone gave us. Joe yours sounds liek a possble fuel shut off malfunction or plugwires /distrubutor /egnition control trouble. Please e-mail me if you find it lucasnrachel@yahoo.com, joe have you tried to clean the fuel injection system or try the other gas additives?
