| Coolant fan control relay - Mercury-Capri |
| Coolant fan control relayI have a problem with the radiator fan coming on when it should. I first noticed it when the engine started to over hear in stop/go city traffic. I idled the engine at home in the driveway until nit started to get hot and noticed the fan was intermittant when the temp-gauge showed it hot. The overflow jug was boiling so it was actually running very hot. I heard the fan kick on for two seconds then shut off. Much to little to cool the idling engine. I located the coolant fan relay behind the driverside headlight. NAPA Auto Parts couldnt find the fan relay in their data base. The relay appears to be a sealed unit with a pig tail (round) electrical connector. Thoughts welcome! Thanks.

| Seems that your cooling fan switch is going bad. If your fan is coming on your relay is more than likey fine. The fan switch is located on your thermosat ( has a Green with red stripe wire attached to it ). |
