Lexus-ES 300 -
O/D LIGHT FLASHING

I have a 1994 Lexus ES 300 82K miles on it and the check engine light came on a few weeks ago and the O/D (over drive) light also was flashing. The O/D light comes and goes but the check engine lite stays on. My mechanic put in a used lexus working auto-transmission from Japan and the check engine and o/d lights came back after only 24 miles and the car continues to have shifting problems at starts. Do you know what the problem is and what is required to fix it. Thank you
