wipers only work in high position. Low and delay not qorking and when wipers are turned off, they do not go into park position. Is this a wiper motor problem or some eletrical problem?

I'm having the same problem with my 2000 Wrangler Sport. Only now the wipers aren't working at all. I know my switch is still good because when I pull down on it to wash the windshield the sprayer still works. Sometimes I can manually move the wipers when they're turned on, but that's all the movement I get. I was looking at prices for new motors, but they're looking expensive. If you find out anything please let me know before I end up spending more than i have to. Thanks - Ransom

Hey all.....same here! Total pain to deal with with. There is a Chrysler Service Bulletin on the Intrument Cluster that has also affected my car. This issue on the bulletin will cause your gauges on your dash to cease operating and go to zero and the red airbag comes on. Then youn may get a "no buss" indicator where your milage is typically displayed. Am starting to think these problems are all related to THAT instrument cluster issue. Dampness and cold all play into this! checking into it now with my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport

I own a 98 tj...and have had problems with the instrument cluster since day one. Basically, I push in on the cluster and the gages start working and then die and or stop working all together. Now the wiper motor no longer works. steve

to all. this is an apparent problem with older jeeps. i have a 98 yj. have had all kinds of problems with wipper. the sterring colume is a gmc colume. the problem is with the wipper relay module. from jeep the part is $200 + install. i found it at rockauto.com for @80. it is an easy fix. just unplug and plug in the new one. hope this helps.

Does anybody make repair parts for the wiper motor? They sell rebuilt motors and it can't be rocket science.

to all:

the instrument cluster on some older jeeps ('97 TJ, perhaps others) was the subject of a factory recall. if you visit a dealer, it is likely that you can get it repaired/replaced free of charge, regardless of whether you bought your car new or used.

I do not believe this applies to the wiper relay, however.

i HAVE A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER AND THE WIPERS WORK IN ALL THE SETTINGS EXCEPT WHEN PUT IN THE DELAY MODE. NO MATTER WHERE I SET IT THEY FAIL TO WORK. THE FAST AND SLOW MODES WORK AND SO DOES IT WHEN I PULL THE ARM DOWN FOR MIST. JUST NOT IN THE DELAY SETTING. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

2005 wrangler. I keep blowing the fuse for the wiper. Manual The original 20amp that was in there blew first then I installed the 25 amp per the manual and that blew. So id the other 20 amp that I put in. Any ideas why?

I've been having similar problems to most everyone here. I own a 2000 Sahara, and for a while, I could get the wipers to work only if I first put them in the highest setting, and then reduced the speed. Now they won't work at all, and I don't get any fluid when I pull on the lever, so I'm guessing it's my wiper switch. Before I head to CAP and get a replacement part, I just want to make sure that seems like the most likely issue (I've already replaced my fuse.)

Hi I have had the same problem with my 2000 TJ Wrangler Jeep but have discovered that the water comes of the roof, into the vents and floods the motor. We have stripped it, clean the bushes and put it in a plastic bag. Works perfect. Cheers

I'm having an issue with the defroster on the rear window of my hardtop. The wiper and washer fluid work, the fuses are good, but the defroster does not work.

Any ideas?

For while my front wipers would run very slow or not at all in slow setting but, run perfect in high speed. I thought at first that it was the cold weather because after warming up the jeep they would run. Then i was told that it might be a relay for the wipers. Dealership and part stores tell me there insnt a wiper relay for a 01 Wrangler Sahara. Today the fast sertting ran slow and finally not working at all. Cannot even drive due to the fact we are gettign hit with a major snow storm at this moment. Is it the wiper switch on the steering column or the motor? Fuse is fine Ant reasonable answer would help me in the direction to fixing this problem. Thank You.

I just bought this 02 Wrangler. Yesterday the wipers worked fine on the drive from the dealership. Today I didn't even make it out of the driveway before they quit. Had just high speed for a little bit then it all stopped. Found that if I banged on the top of the steering colum they would work just while I hit it. I wiggled the wiring underneath and could get them to go on and off as long as I held the wires in a certain place. Of course I kept trying to trace it back further into the harness and now they stopped all together. Anyone else run into this before? I thought/think it's a loose connection somewhere...don't know!

Thank author of this post/comment"rear wiper problem"

tried replacing rear wiper motor in 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Motor "clicks" when plugged in but won't operate wiper when switch turned on. Does squirt windshield cleaner. Is this a bad switch? Is there a relay gone bad between switch and motor? Could I possibly have two bad motors as neither work but both "click" when plugged in?
