Jeep-Wrangler - Now it won't start engine computer problem?
Richard (66.91.4.104) - Sun Jul 27 19:27:18 2008
My son, having trouble with his '97 I-6 not running good, replaced several things, then reprogrammed the ECU with a Hypertech Power Programmer III. This seemed to help some and he proceeded to reprogram it: He accidentally interrupted the programming by trying to start it. Now the Hypertech states that programming was interrupted and to call an 800 Hypertech number (Hypertech says call the dealer). The jeep turns over, but will not start or fire. We've unhooked the battery for 4 minutes to attempt to reset the ECU. No luck. Any suggestions?

Did you get this figured out? I had a small fire in my engine area and it fried the wires to the injectors. I seperated them and drove the jeep to get it off the highway. I then repaired the wires and it turns over but will not fire. There is no responce from the gauges. Any help would be appreciated very much! thanks, don

Hey sounds like you may have corrupted the programming on the original software for the vehicle. Going to the dealer probably not your best bet. Solution you can call me @1-877-238-9388 ask for richard betancourt or luis mambuca. What we can do is flash the unit(reprogram)to oem . Next step would be to use your flash tuner(hyper tech power programmer) and program it again.2nd Solution if ecm is completly damagedyou could get one remanufactured and proceed with flash tuner. I think it can be solve with flashing it back to factory standards.3rd sloution disconnect battery, then disconnect wire harness from unit and wait ten minutes or so and keep trying. We changed some parts recently on a gto and we had to repeat this procedure several times until computer learned new settings. We would like to help. Call if we can assist you. We remanufacture and flash ecms.
