2005 Jeep Liberty starts normally by turning the key, but each sucessive turn presents a mystery. In the morning, for instance, the engine will start normally, just don't turn it off or you risk being stranded just like me.Problem: Intermittent nostart. Note: Lights come on throughout, as well as other electrical power options. Several times I promptly had it towed. But later learned that if you just wait overnite, til morning, it'll start up per normal by simply turning the key. In reading several posts about Jeeps, on what it could, or, couldn't be. How about we start with the battery? Or, is it the starter the culprit? How about the fuel pump? Control module? Solenoid? The key recognition control? The Relay or the key ignition switch, or how about the...

Took my Jeep Liberty to a Dealer. The intermittent "nostart" problem was replicated by a service mechanic. Next, he gave the Starter a little tap with a rubber hammer. The engine started at that point. The mechanic concluded/diagnosed that the Starter was in the process of going bad and recommended that it be replaced. I agreed. Replace Starter Job; Cost, incl. (remanufactured) Parts & Labor: $304.00 Result: My Jeep Liberty starts every single time I turn the ignition key, and the question of whether the engine will start is no longer a mystery.

Jeep Liberty 2005 2.8 Diesel. Have been experiencing leaks for the rear and front seals. Has been in shop 4X. Dealer has had different explination each time. Now they say the leak is caused by a stopped up ERG valve which is causing the oil pan to over pressure due to blow-by. Is this possible?
