Jeep-Grand Cherokee - Clunking Sound

When accelerating past 45 mph (and only when reaching that speed) my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee makes a clunking sound (very similar to driving over seams in concrete highways). If I accelarate slowly there is no sound. Do you think this may be the transmission or some other issue? I've noticed no slow down in acceleration or any jumping in the RPM gauge. Just the sound.

Hello, I am experiencing a hard knocking sound at the back right of my 2005 jeep Liberty while driving over bumps. Mech's can't seem to locate the proplem .They even tested the shocks. Any ideas of what the propblem might be ? Mike

i, m getting a loud clunking sound from my engine, what can it be? i would have thought it was the crankshaft big end bearings, engine runs good, not even missing,

It could be the engine mounts. When the car revs up fast it could knock the engine up and down if the engine mounts are broken are loose. If you accelerate slowly the car should be fine. If this is the problem, change it quick cuz all that shaking will wear down the engine faster.
