I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when I start it up I have to wait until it spits and sputters before I drive it otherwise it will do it on the road and I loose all power in the motor until it's through. It works great as soon as it's done. All wires and plugs are good, someone said it was a temp. sensor, could this be the cause?

We had this happen to our '98. THe Cat COnverter had to be replaced and that sovled the problem. Apparently the material inside the component had broken up and would partially 'clog' the exhaust and cause the vehicle to sputter. It actually stalled a couple time just before we replaced the converter.
