some help?

The sensor could be out(located on the inside of the doorframe). I was shorted in my jeep and I had the same problem. easy fix and its a uneversal part for most cars.

As for the air bag it to could be a sensor that just needs to be reset. try unhooking the battery to reset the system. If your jeep has been in a crash or you bought it used take it in to check if there is even an airbag there. Air bags are expensive to replace and sometimes after an airbag deployment a car shop will cut cost by not replacing them. Its a really cheap scam that could cost somebody their life.

My jeep grand cherokee limit 2000 has the same problem. But also the alarm will randomly go off, so I unlock it and then I go to start it and its hard to start, sometimes i have to jump it. I just replaced the battery and alternator, and i dont know what else it could be. i have to start and let it run everyday or i will have to jump it, would could be causing the alarm to go off randomly and why does it affect it starting?

I had the same problem with the radio and the information screen and so on. The fix is simple. First, you have a short in your interior map lights. Above the rear lights, there is a piece of bare metal. When a wire leading to the lights becomes exposed, it makes contact with the bare metal and ZAP! First step is to fix the short in the light. After that, check your radio fuses. One is blown. That fuse controls more than just the radio. It controls everything that you just describes as not working. Replace that and voila. Problem solved.
