Wont stay running

1991 Jeep 4.0- Initally thought it was fuel

related so I replaced fuel pump and filter. Still only runs for a minute and then dies like somebody shut the fuel off, Replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, crank sensor. Still will only run for around a minute. After it stopes running it turns over very hard like the timing is off. After 15 minutes it will start for a minute. When it runs it smells rich, rich enough to run you out of the garage. New to Jeep so im lost on the next step.
