my 96 cherokee will not even attempt starting. when I turn the key it does not make any noise but all the electric things turn on. it was running about 15 or 30 minutes before i tried it and it did this. PLEASE HELP ME

smack the starter with a broom handle a few times. if it starts, good. you'll need a new starter, but you'll get a few more starts out of the old one.
