The brake pedal on my 98 VDP seems to go way down before the brake is activated. Is it possible that the brakes need bleeding? The pedal is firm once it makes contact.

does it feels like soft instead of firm? if that so, then the problem was in the air system that requires bleeding the brakes. check also at the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.
