We have a 93 xj6 that took a jolt to the front. I can't get it started. I turn the key to the "ON" position and can hear the fuel pump start to run, but the starter doesn't make a sound. The inertia switch is not tripped. What does happen though, is that all the settings for the radio and clock are wiped out each time I turn the key past "ON" to "START". Any ideas?

On your XJ6 sounds like a dead short from the starter,

solenoid, or cable, when the solenoid engages the current

is very high dropping the battery voltage so low the clock and

radio reset. To prove this put a meter on the battery and watch

it when you try to start your Jag, and see if the voltage dips

dramatically

Look for a pinched/cut hot wire, or a loose, damaged or missing

ground wire from the frame to the engine.

You mentioned front end damage; it only takes a second to miss

something when you rebuild one. Good luck

Hi.

I have a jaguar xj6 1994.

Problem: Light Problem.

The front and back parking lights are on even if the car is off.

The head switch is not the problem.

The car have body control in the parking lights?

My 1994 xj6 has a problem when trying to start. it make a funny sound like gurgling in the fuel tank. before this as i was driving it began to lose power as i would excellerate the power it would idle only. now it has a super hard time to start. ????????? does any one know why.?

the left side marker is not working and the same side turn sig/ mini fog lite never comes On unless you turn the turn signal on then It works.tnx 1994 xj6 other then that the cars sweeeeeet!p

i have just bought a 1971 xj6 and it wont start it just winds over verry slowly what should i check the fuses , starter battery etc any help would be apreciated as i am new to jaguars.
