Brake noises

my 2005 accent makes a thumping/grinding noise in the front end when the brakes are applied on a steep hill. this started after the tires were replaced. just had it in, and the brakes checked out fine. of course it would not duplicate at the time, but has since. there is definately something not right. any ideas? thanks.

think you had to check your brake pads and either replace em or try to make sure the esembly of the brake pads are exactly correct and tight....another thing, brakes are never to run in water or rainy days? be good to your car and itll love you back ok?

my calipers on my 2005 Hyundai accent have locked up on me. first it was the right one about a week ago now it is the left. i changed the right caliper and was wondering if there was anything else that could cause this.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Accent and the brakes are in need of changing. Due to having one car I would like to save a lot of time and find out what tools are required to change the brakes.

I am trying not have to find out by taking the tire off then putting it back on, driving to the parts store and back.

I have a floor jack, lug nut tool, rachet... anything else?

I had a camaro and I needed a special tool to remove the caliper.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

noises on brakes can be caused by some factors such as the distorted brake shoes, bent backing plate, broken or weak bake shoe return springs, hard linings or dust in the drums. btw, where does the noise came from?

My 2004 Hyundai Accent (automatic) has been a great car so far. Recently though, it has begun to worry me. I took it in because when I brake at a light or a stop sign for too long, disengaging the brake causes a clunk noise. Seems to come from the center to to the rear of the car. When I took it in-after looking at the brake system and finding nothing wrong with the brakes the guys looked at the transmission. The transmission fluid was changed and they thought maybe this could fix the problem. It still makes the noise. They seem to be at a loss. Anyone out there have any ideas?

My Hyundai Accent automatic also seems to have the same problems when braking, When I first apply the brake it ok but when it goes down the automatic gear box, something gives and you get a grinding type of feeling under foot

Forget that, I've had a decent look and my ABS sensor unit is at fault.

I have a 08 accent 3 door with drum brakes in rear. Getting a clicking noise from rear right side brake when applied. Not all the time. Took it in to dealer. Naturally he said he didn't hear noise and that he cleaned and adjusted brake. Well still clicking. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a 2005 Accent with a clunking noise which comes from the front right wheel as the car slows with braking from about 15 mph down to under 5 mph. I had it in the shop but they only found a loose screw, which they tightened, A day later, we noticed it was still doing it. The clunking sound resembles a cv joint, but there is no noise with cornering; so, I would guess that rules the cv joint out. Anyone know what this might be?

I have 2003 hyundai sonata and rear left disc brake locks up. After driving a while, I can feel the whole rear right wheel heat up. (very hot)

There wasn't any leak on the pipes feeding into the caliper and everything seeemed fine.

Is there anyone experienced the same? I am thinking it could be caliper cylinder getting stuck and not fully releasing the disc.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

i'm getting a similar problem. my brothers 06 hyundai tiburon gt v6. at low speeds theres this clunking noise at the front right. at 30-110mph its fine. im not too sure what it is either. i thought it was struts but i didnt lose traction under braking with bumps. there is no clicking noise through turning so it isn't the cv axle. today if i have time, i'm going to check multiple bolts for the whole suspension assembly. if anything let me know so i dont have all the trouble.

I have an 04 accent and when I take my foot off the brakes, there is a squeak noise from the right rear, any thoughts?
