Geo Tracker ignition lock removal

I am trying to remove the ignition lock cylinder from the lock assembly unit but cannot find anything ti say how, or if, it can be done. Any ideas??? Thanks.

I don't believe you can remove the ignition lock cylinder, but I would check with your local Chevrolet dealer or a local locksmith.

there IS a way to take it out. there is a way you put the key in and the whole cylinder slides out with the key in it. you have to take off the panel under it and i think you have to press something and it slides right out.
