I own a 95 geo tracker. In the last month and a half I have broken 2 flex plates. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Does your flex plate use a washer to secure itself? Is it cracked or broken? Is it locked tight before it is tourqued?

yes it does have a washer, not cracks, but the washer had to be ground down for it to be removed from the old flex plate and fit back on the motor again.
