1991 Geo Tracker won't start. Changed fuel pump and filter. The fuel won't get through the fuel regulator. I replaced the fuel regulator and got the same result. However, when I spray Carb Cleaner into the fuel line, the tracker starts righ up. Any suggestions?-Tasha

has it got 4 injectors or 1.If the tracker has just the one over the throttle body which it probably does, take a wire from the ground of the coil and hook it straight to the injector and it will crank and run. It is probably the computer but you can just run a permanent wire and it will run fine.

Q: Does that wire from the coil ground go to the red or yellow wire on the injector or just to groundon the injector housing.

It will be your computer module for the tracker. Check by pouring a teaspoon of gas directly into the intake and it will start. Mine was running fine and then it just died. I could start it and everything by pouring gas into it just would not run. When I changed the computer it started right up. Just to save you the trouble of changing timing belt plug wires and a trip to the garage. It cost me some money to figure it out but that is the problem I would put money on it. if you have spark at the plugs it will be the computer that is what tells the injector to put fuel into the intake.

the fuel pump stop pumping fuel, so i ran a hot wire to the pump and it pumps fuel, put won't stop at the throttel body, so i poured gas in the throttel body and it would start, so i sent my computer into the shop for repairs, i got it back now i have no fire to the plugs, and the timming belt is fine, i have power to the coil, but no fire to the cap, i cleaned the cap and rotor,

hello try running a hot wire from your fuel pump to the fuse box and it will probably run. well you see what happens with these old geo trackers is the wiring that is behind your drivers side tail lights gets coroded and wont let it get good contact. i had this problem with a 1993 geo tracker. i hope this works for you. thanks jeff crippen.

1991 Geo Tracker stopped runing going down the road. It has lost spark. I have power comming to the coil on both sides and have replaced the power unit that sets on top of the coil. I have also replaced the coil & distributor, and still have no spark.I have checked the fuel pump also and it will pump when I run jumper wires to it, but does not come on when I try to start the car. I purchased another computer box from a salvage yard, but the car does exactly the same thing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

y '91 tracker w/auto trans just quit running. Everything lites up with the switch on, but no action from the starter at all. I can wait an hour and it starts. Can start it four or five times and all is okay. I can then wait a half hour or so, and we are back to square one. Not even a click that is typical of a dead or dying battery. Any wizard out there who can solve this for me? I offer up my first-born if you can. Thanks.

1990 Geo tracker. Problem sounds like everyone elses.. Won't start, no crank. Get a clicking sound from under dash. Sounds like he ECM hanging up or bad relay, Ran a push button for starter still nothing. Have power from all leads in fuse box.I think the Ecm is bad? any other ideas????

There are two capacitors in these early tracker/sidekicks with the 8v engine that WILL go bad.Replace these caps, or the computer and you'll be on the road again
