I have a 1990 metro 2-door hatchback, but I don't have the owner's manual. I need to know how many gallons the gas tank holds. I'd like to find this out without actually running out of gas. Thanks

I have a '91 Metro 2dr hatchback, and it is supposed to have a 10.6 gallon tank. I'm sure that's right, but I have never filled up with more than 8.5 gallons, even after running it down to the "E".

According to the 2001 Chilton manual, page 1-47, 1990 Metro has a 10.0 gal. fuel capacity. "Note: All capacities are approximate. Add fluid gradually and ensure a proper fluid level is obtained." 1990 was the only year they had 10.0 gal. tanks. Takes 3.7 qts. or oil, 4.2 qts. cooling sys.
Geo gauges are known to be inaccurate. Both of mine are.
