I have an 89 Metro that will pulsate if you try to run it at fast idle, it also will stumble on mild acceleration, (problem is worse immediately after deceleration), can anyone please help me with a diagnosis? thank you. Bob

I had the same problem whith mine it tuned out to be the egr valveyou can check it by unpluging it and temporarily plugging the vacume line that goes to it. if that solves the problem try putting a small hole in the line and plugging it back in some times bleeding off some of the vacume helps

I have a 91 Geo Metro 3cyl (eighth vin number is "6") and it runs great when running... but like those above, it is extremely hard to start in the cold or damp... that part I have learned to live with, though it is extremely aggravating and does affect schedules... but... my issue at the moment is that I was driving at 60 miles an hour, after having driven already thirty miles, and the motor just "quit"... it was so silent that it was freaky.... and it is an automatic... so I could not attempt to restart by popping the clutch... There was no spurting... no growling of metal... no flapping of belts... no lurching... no nothing... ! I am a veteran... I am disabled and have an upcoming surgery... This is my only source of transportation and I am hoping some of you guys have learned whats up with these little metros... and perhaps can let me know exactly what y'all recommend I do, in which order, to get'er on the road again... Thanks in advance... C. Cahoon
