Has any one replaced a speedometer cluster before? This is my first time and I am curious to know if there is anything special I need to know before I attempt this for my first time.

Hello, all i can really tell you is to make sure you have a nice clean work area. Also make sure you dont tangle too many wired. I researched step by step directions for you.

I have seen a host of people with nonfunctional speedometers. That means like you, they are fearing to take that bold step. How about you trying it and being the first of a kind? I am sure replacing it would be okay only if you take the necessary precautions.
What I would say is make sure you do not buy a counterfeit one or mess the connections
