Air Conditioner Shuts off in hot weather

Our air conditioning unit works fine until we are in weather over 101 degrees which is when we need the air conditioner the most. Any suggestions as to why it stops working or what we can do to fix it? We've brought it in to be serviced and we're told there is nothing wrong with it.
