I have a 1996 GMC S15 Sonoma 2.2L and it has for the past few weeks a wierd idle issue. First the idle stick at a higher RPM then normal and wouldn't drop to a normal idle, then (now) it won't idle at all without having to keep your foot on the gas. Once since not idling without stalling it did get stuck at a higher rpm again. Now, it seems consident in stalling RATHER THEN A HIGHER rpm, BUT IT COMES AND GOES?. So far, I used 2 cans of heat, 2 cans of injector cleaner, switched gas stations and type of gas, changed the gas filter weeks before this started, the plugs and wires were changed recently and before this all started. The odd thing is that the fuel pump wines so bad you can here it inside the truck with the windows down, but at other times you don't. But this dosn't seem to be consistent with the cutting out at idle though. And the even weirder thing is, some times it doese it, and some times it doesn't. Driving me nuts. Any body have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Gene

well those trucks fuel pumps die around 120k. I think you may have a vacuum leak on your hood disconnect your line on your vacuum ball to see if your holding any vacuum. if thats not the problem check your ltFT on a scanner
