1999 GMC Sierra 4.3 4WD AutomaticThe ABS Module failed. Instead of buying one from the local GMC dealer for $895.00 I sent this off to have it rebuilt for a cost of $180.00. There are many re-builders on the web all claiming that their rebuilds are far superior to the factory installed. This is the second time I have had to replace this baby. First time I spent the $895.00. I do live in the Northeast where the winters are very cold and lots of salt and sand is used on the roads.
I got it back and my Mechanic (GMC Mechanic for 20 years and certified in many areas) replaced it. Now the code states that the ABS Relay is faulty.
My mechanic cannot find the relay. None of the schematics he has access to makes any reference to it. He did work for a dealership for those 15 years and branched out on his own. He is stumped. I also have searched the web to see if I can find a location for this relay with no results. Before going with this guy for my repair needs I did check him out at the dealership and all the guys he worked with said he was A+ so I feel comfortable with him.
Does anyone know where it is located?
Thanks
