I am having the same problem with my fuel pump. There are two relays in the fuse block, which is in the engine compartment. They are the some type, so I switched them to see if it might be the relay. No change. I checked for 12 volts on plug 87, which is the plug to the top left as you are in front of the vehicle facing it, or the plug the is closest to the back passenger side. Voltage was present. Next, use a test light and connect it to plug 87 and 30. 30 is in the opposite corner, or the front driver side. Plug 30 runs to the pump. The light should light up. If it does not, then you have an open in the line between that location and the pump. That is my problem. More then likely, it means that the pump is bad. The brushes are not making contact. I put in a paper clip from plug 87 to 30 and banged on the fuel tank with a 3 lb hammer and the pump started running again. Be careful though, when banging on the tank, try to only hit on the metal strap to avoid punching a hole in the tank. Also, if the pump starts running be careful taking the paper clip out. It gets really hot! I burned myself pretty good. I hope this helps. By the way, that means that the pump is getting ready to go out. I am currently looking for an inexpensive replacement. I can not believe how expensive they can be.
