does anybody know where the door sensor for the 98 Ford Windstar is? It is dinging until I reach 25 mph and is driving me insane! I don't know if it is in the door, under the dash, or where. Can someone PLEASE tell me I'm not alone on this one!!??

hi here is the answer to your question were is the sensor for the door ajar in the windstar Well... the switch is incorporated to the lock, inside de door. You have to take off the doorīs carpeting and, with a torx key, take off the door lock. The sensor is incased in low of the lock, you can see a couple of wires leaving it. Each door have one or more sensors. The trunk door have 2 sensors, one in each lock. My WindStar had one sensor of trunk door stopped on "open" position. I took it off, clened and oiled. Done itīs working like a new one! Good look!

1998 ford windstar (not 3.8 engine) dash indicator states battery not charging. tested alternator was not putting any voltage out. meter shows that alternator and battery are at same volage and not charging. replaced alternator and have same problem. any ideas.

Had a similar issue with my 98. It would ding and the light would be on until I hit 23 mph, thought I would go insane!!! I WD40'd the locks, I mean a lot of it! Worked like a charm. That was 2 years ago and not a problem since.
