390 does not run anymore

Hello
Im frans from the Netherlands and my friend owns a62 Thunderbird.
He bought it a year ago.
But now there is a problem, the engine ( 390 4 barrel ) started running worse every day later and now it's over
It turns around, has a spark and fuel.
We put new sparkcables, sparks, points, condensator on it but is does not start.
The only thing that happens is a little poef and then its over
We don't know anymore..
Does anyone have an idea what this can be ?
