I have a 2005 Ford Taurus, the heater fan only blows on the highest setting when i try to use a lower setting nothing. When the car gets hot I have to turn the speed control down, when it is cold turn it back to high. Any ideas how to fix this problem with out going to the dealer for repair? It is the same when the AC is on.

I fixed my daughter's 2002 Taurus with the same problem. You need to replace the blower motor resistor assembly. It's easy and costs less than $20. It's located under the middle of the dash. You may have to pull a protective cover off to see the workings under there, but once you do it's only a matter of removing two screws, unplugging the assembly and replacing it. Hope this helps.
