|hey my wife put a question in about our taurus it cranks up to 3000 rpm's then goes down to nothing. we changed the fuel pump and filters and the cold temp sencer and it still wont run. you push on the gas and it wont go. the rpm's wont go above 1000 then all of the sudden it goes to 3000 as your holding down the gas pettal. there is a hose back by the windshild leaking air but if you try to stop the air it burns your hand it has metal and a rubber hose attached. some kind of vacuum i think as soon as i put tape on it to stop the leak it melted it. but it made the car not stall any idea's? it all started when i was going down the highway about 65 miles pre hour and then the rpm's went up to 3000 then the miles decreased to 20 miles an hour and then it just shut off and died we smelled something burning and i think that is when that metal part got the pin holes because it was so hot temp gage was good did not over heat.|
