Can a dealer program a blank transponder key from a programmed transponder key without the vehicle.

I have a 2007 Ford Tarus with one key. I had a new key made and everything works as far as the key goes, it just won't start the car. And when I do try to start the car, the security light comes on. Is there a special key to buy?

If you have two transponder keys already for the vehicle, you can program the third and so on yourself. Cycle the prgrammed key from off to on 6 to 8 times depends on model I think, until the power locks cycle. Insert the second key and cycle once, then subsequent keys.If you only have one key, then you'll need the dealer or a locksmith with the computer to program a second key.

i had purchased a ford taurus from the auction, it has no keys how do i get a copy?
