I was wondering if you would know of anyone with an interest/need in a new V8 sho engine, still crated, complete with all components direct from FORD. I obtained this engine and was going to have in installed in my SHO after the cams failed, however-we decided to move in a different direction and it has been stored since. I have a 1997 ford taurus. i have one thing thats wrong with it. When i have to start it. it has to have the emergency brake on and then it has to be clicked once then put into neutral and then you can start it, the person that i got the car from. said that it was just a thing thats connected to the brake that need to be replaced but i was wondering if someone know how much that would cost me?? and if i didnt explain this right then i will get someone else who can better thank you for your time

Hello everyone. I own a 1997 SHO. About two weeks ago the tension pulley Popped off and I can't find it or even the bolt that holds it in. The only thing left on the engine is the tensioner and not the pulley. I called my local ford dealer and they said that part is discountinued. My question is- What the heck am I supposed to do now? I checked everywhere for this part and I cannot find it. Will The pulley from a regular taurus engine do the job?

Please give me suggestions.

OK folks for engines --try V8sho.com or get ahold of Tom Gurton

in Ohio .

If your cams are not welded there are links to folks who will weld them in there also.

Boycott Ford --send them an email stating you will not buy their products until they --recall formerly the Cams and they weld and balance them for you free and that they need to stop

discontinuing parts for our cars --as they are collectables

and not even Classic yet --ford doesn't discontinue parts ordinarily until they become classic --however my take -- since there is a Class Action suit against ford for this defect and practice they are attempting to send all our cars to the scrap heap --which is an unfair business tactic .

My 1997 White/tan leather Sho is for sale --3, 500 which includes

an internally upgraded trans and 4 new Kumho tires and newer Alternator .

I have a Good spare computer (perfect original set) engine and trans --running the used replacements for restoration sakes for future -was the plan , upper cylinder gasket set and 4 new COP units to include .

The brake rotors are newer as well --

Note : the cams have not yet been welded --will need a new set

of 16" wheels -flaking and Positive note the paint has been refreshed recently --as far as the white goes

I also have the aftermarket SHO Bra that goes on it.

This price is fair and actually a deal --due to medical bills this car is for sale --price not negotiable --will not budge --I can point buyer to SHOP that will do any future work needed and they too have a INTAKE to replace fords that developes more power and TQ --which also allows you to gain access to both cylinder heads --

The AUTO trans work --race worthy was 3, 875 alone

as the stock Ford internals are junk --any reputable trans shop can find and replace any of the parts if ever needed in the future as well --already had it's trans tune rechecked and it was 100% --provides a firmer shift as well to avoid burning clutches and street / strip shift kit and HP Torque Convertor

to name a few of the internals .

Only ever used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil as well

My '97 SHO with yamaha engine is in very good condition. New Transmission, new tires, brakes, rotors, wheels, recently tuned and inspected. 155, 000 miles, I'm 62 an easy driver, this car is my back and forth to Florida car. Time to move on, need a few other things and need to sell this car. $3500 OBO, I look forward to hearing from you, pictures if you ask for them. I have a 1997 Ford Taurus SHO that I'm parting out. 90K miles.

Car was running when parked. Issue with title that I couldn't resolve so I made it a donor car. Red exterior/Tan leather interior

Removed from the car:

Exhaust system (most of it)

right drive axle & right front suspension.

CD player

Front speakers

Speedometer cluster

EVERYTHING ELSE is still with the car and is for sale.

The motor was fine when parked over 2 years ago. Has been started occasionally since but not in a few months. I will get video of the motor running (without exhaust) soon.

The motor will need some coil packs as I have swapped some but you probably want to put new ones on anyway in an engine swap (especially on the back bank). I do not know if the cams have been welded or not. I'm not far from Doug Lewis and I can deliver the motor anywhere between Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga. I'd like $850 for the motor but make an offer. Will sell in car as well.

Also have identical 97 daily driver with welded cams and Chrome wheels that is for sale. $4000 or $4700 for both the driver and the parts car.

Runs great. $1500. Power seat doesn't move. Could use gaskets on valve covers. Nothing else wrong with this car. Was my daily driver for about 5 years before parking it and driving the 97. Right before it was parked it had

rear main gasket and a lot of other stuff totalling $1700.

Less than 50K miles on plugs, waterpump, O2, Crank and cam sensors.
